This species is very similar to Zygaena purpuralis. Separating these two species by only using morphological examination is impossible, unless the examination of the genitalia is carried out.
Nevertheless, Zygaena minos does not fly in the French Pyrénées nor at altitudes above 1700m, unlike Zygaena purpuralis. |
